Man who let deadly snakes bite him 200+ times could be key to new antivenom

For nearly two decades, Tim Friede voluntarily injected himself with venom and endured over 200 snake bites in hopes of building immunity and helping create a universal antivenom. Now, scientists are using antibodies from his blood to develop a breakthrough treatment that has shown strong protection against the world’s deadliest snake venoms in early lab tests.
