The third original member, bassist and vocalist Dusty Hill, passed away on July 28, 2021, at the age of 72. 
Following Hill’s death, Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard of ZZ Top continued performing, with their longtime guitar tech, Elwood Francis, stepping in as the bassist.
