Our Hotspots Happening Out, LGBTQ lifestyle magazine Hotspots has issued a new Pridefete edition today, and it is available free of cost on stands. The magazine has covered multiple engaging features, including the pivotal Pridefete feature on Designer Dru Chuck.
Dru Chuck is the visionary behind the dazzling “Designs by Dru,” who continues to redefine Caribbean Carnival fashion with creations that blend heritage, artistry, and soul. Dru’s creative fire now fuels one-of-a-kind costumes for events like Miami Carnival and Jamaica Carnival. This year’s masterpiece, Lapis Lazuli, is inspired by the ancient royal stone once cherished by pharaohs. Featuring celestial blues and golden accents, the design pays homage to the divine wisdom and trade legacy of Egypt. Dru’s designs are not just costumes—they’re living art, and they are perfect for the upcoming Pridefete event on August 9. To learn more about the artist and where you can purchase and explore his work, grab the free copy as soon as you can.

Project 2025 is shot through with anti-trans ideas and draconian proposals to crack down on, not only the rights, but even the mention of LGBTQ people. The conservative blueprint for the next Republican presidency lays out a plan that equates trans identity with pornography in a calculated attempt to classify anyone who is not straight and cis-gender as obscene, dangerous, and ultimately, illegal. The tactic falls right in line with the authors’ fixation on anything that might threaten the conservative image of what the American family should be.

Lyrics
You put the boom-boom into my heart
You send my soul sky high when your lovin' starts
Jitterbug into my brain
Goes a bang-bang-bang 'til my feet do the same
But something's bugging you
Something ain't right
My best friend told me what you did last night
Left me sleepin' in my bed
I was dreaming, but I should have been with you instead.
Wake me up before you go-go
Don't leave me hanging on like a yo-yo
Wake me up before you go-go
I don't want to miss it when you hit that high
Wake me up before you go-go
'Cause I'm not plannin' on going solo
Wake me up before you go-go
Take me dancing tonight
I wanna hit that high (yeah, yeah)
You take the grey skies out of my way
You make the sun shine brighter than Doris Day
Turned a bright spark into a flame
My beats per minute never been the same
'Cause you're my lady, I'm your fool
It makes me crazy when you act so cruel
Come on, baby, let's not fight
We'll go dancing, everything will be all right
Wake me up before you go-go
Don't leave me hanging on like a yo-yo
Wake me up before you go-go
I don't want to miss it when you hit that high
Wake me up before you go-go
'Cause I'm not plannin'' on going solo
Wake me up before you go-go
Take me dancing tonight
I wanna hit that high (yeah, yeah, baby)
(Jitterbug)
(Jitterbug)
Cuddle up, baby, move in tight
We'll go dancing tomorrow night
It's cold out there, but it's warm in bed
They can dance, we'll stay home instead
(Jitterbug)
Wake me up before you go-go
Don't leave me hanging on like a yo-yo
Wake me up before you go-go
I don't want to miss it when you hit that high
Wake me up before you go-go
'Cause I'm not plannin' on going solo
Wake me up before you go-go
Take me dancing tonight
Wake me up before you go-go, don't you dare to leave me hanging on like a
yo-yo
Take me dancing
(Boom-boom-boom)
