Sir David Attenborough investigates a unique site in southern England where amateur fossil hunters uncovered giant mammoth bones and evidence of Neanderthals. A team of paleontologists and archaeologists soon discover that the site preserves rare evidence of the extinct beasts and early human inhabitants of Britain dating to over 200,000 years ago. What skills did the early humans have to help them survive during the Ice Age? How did they hunt and protect themselves against formidable creatures such as mammoths? With hands-on experiments with replicas of Neanderthal-era spears and stone tools, the world of prehistoric Britain comes to life.

President Donald Trump’s military parade to mark the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday on Saturday will bring thousands of soldiers and dozens of massive military vehicles and aircraft to the National Mall.
Military parades of this scale are uncommon in the U.S. The last was in 1991, to mark the end of the first Gulf War.
Trump has heralded the celebration as a chance to celebrate the country and the "service and sacrifice" of soldiers. The president has also gotten political blowback over the parade, which will shut down roads and bridges around the city for days. Democrats have criticized the cost — up to $45 million — and accused Trump of making the day about himself. Veterans are divided over the event and a majority of Americans don't feel like it's a good use of money, according to an AP-NORC poll.

66 million years ago an orphaned baby Triceratops roamed the lush world of Laramidia, alone and vulnerable. Heat is the deadliest weather hazard in the U.S. and many places around the world, and it's only getting worse.
The most deadly heat waves so far have been dry heat waves. But a new threat is rising: humid heat waves, aka wet-bulb events. Scientists have identified wet-bulb temperatures where sweat can’t evaporate fast enough to cool the human body. And once this threshold is crossed, it doesn’t matter how much shade or water you have: you won’t survive without environmental cooling like air conditioning.
In this episode of Weathered, we break down: What wet-bulb temperature actually means, why it’s so dangerous, what areas will be affected, and why air conditioning, while essential, isn’t enough.

When we look at the world at the tiniest scales in the subatomic realm, things get weird – very weird. Welcome to the quantum universe, where particles can spin in two directions at once, observing something changes it, and something on one side of the galaxy can instantly affect something on the other, as if the space between them didn’t exist. Buckle up for a wild ride through the discoveries that proved all of this to be true and paved the way for the digital technologies we enjoy today – and the powerful quantum sensors and computers of tomorrow.
