Whether serving as Christian church, Islamic mosque, or secular museum, Hagia Sophia and its soaring dome have inspired reverence and awe. For 800 years, it was the largest enclosed building in the world—the Statue of Liberty can fit beneath its dome with room to spare. How has it survived its location on one of the world's most active seismic faults, which has inflicted a dozen devastating earthquakes since it was built in 537? As Istanbul braces for the next big quake, a team of architects and engineers is urgently investigating Hagia Sophia's seismic secrets. Follow engineers as they build a massive 8-ton model of the building's core structure, place it on a motorized shake table, and hit it with a series of simulated quakes, pushing it collapse—a fate that the team is determined to avoid with the real building.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker issues a stark warning during his annual budget address — not on the state’s finances but rather his fear that President Donald Trump’s America is going down the same path as Nazi Germany.
“My oath is to the Constitution of our state and of our country. We don’t have kings in America, and I don’t intend to bend my knee to one,” Pritzker said, gaining national attention and blowback from lawmakers across the aisle.
As for the budget, Illinois is keeping spending tight amid uncertainty around federal funds.

Coming after an unprecedented campaign season that saw Trump’s felony conviction in a “hush money” case, multiple assassination attempts against him, and President Joe Biden’s exit from the race just four months before the election, “Trump’s Comeback” tells the story of Trump’s return to the presidency, overcoming obstacles and opposition.
The film investigates how Trump’s comeback had roots dating back decades and offers a valuable primer on his approach to life and politics as his second term begins.
The documentary is drawn from FRONTLINE’s vast archive of incisive reporting on Trump across nearly a decade as well as new interviews with White House insiders and journalists conducted after Trump’s 2024 election victory.
“In the scope of American history, it’s almost unbelievable. In the scope of Donald Trump’s life, it’s kind of routine,” Trump biographer Marc Fisher says in the film. “The story of his life is massive swings between utter failure and glorious victory.”

Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore Return to Earth Live Updates: Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams bid farewell to the International Space Station — their home since last spring — departing aboard a SpaceX capsule alongside two other astronauts.
Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore’s mission took an unexpected twist in late January when President Donald Trump asked SpaceX founder Elon Musk to accelerate the astronauts’ return and blamed the delay on the Biden administration.
The replacement crew’s brand new SpaceX capsule still wasn’t ready to fly, so SpaceX subbed it with a used one, hurrying things along by at least a few weeks. Even in the middle of the political storm, Wilmore and Williams continued to maintain an even keel at public appearances from orbit, casting no blame and insisting they supported NASA’s decisions from the start. Nasa astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) on Tuesday, marking the end of an extraordinary nine-month journey in space.
Williams and Wilmore have boarded the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft, accompanied by astronauts Nick Hague and Aleksandr Gorbunov. The four astronauts will splash down off the coast of Florida at 3:27 a.m. IST on March 19, after a 17-hour journey, re-entering Earth's atmosphere.
This marks a significant milestone in their journey, as they prepare to face the challenges of readjusting to Earth's gravity after nearly nine months in space Their mission, initially planned as a brief eight-day test flight aboard Boeing's Starliner spacecraft, was extended due to unforeseen technical issues with their vehicle.

How did NASA engineers build and launch the most ambitious telescope of all time? Follow the dramatic story of the James Webb Space Telescope—the most complex machine ever launched into space. If it works, scientists believe that this new eye on the universe will peer deeper back in time and space than ever before to the birth of galaxies, and may even be able to “sniff” the atmospheres of exoplanets as we search for signs of life beyond Earth. But getting it to work is no easy task. The telescope is far bigger than its predecessor, the famous Hubble Space Telescope, and it needs to make its observations a million miles away from Earth—so there will be no chance to go out and fix it. That means there’s no room for error; the most ambitious telescope ever built needs to work perfectly. The nearly week-long state funeral of former US President Jimmy Carter has officially begun following his death last month aged 100.
The six days of ceremonies started on Saturday with a motorcade procession from the Carters' hometown of Plains, Georgia, to Atlanta, where he will lie in repose until he is moved to Washington DC.
Once all the services have concluded, Carter will be buried in his hometown alongside his wife, Rosalynn, who died last year at age 96.
Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, lived longer than any president in history.

NASA SpaceX Crew-9 has begun its journey back to Earth.
