Two NASA astronauts who have been at the International Space Station since June are one step closer to returning home.
The Workers' Party (WP) said "no promises, commitments or agreements" were made to religious teacher Noor Deros, or anyone else, in exchange for political support for WP candidates, clarified secretary-general Pritam Singh on Saturday (Apr 26).
"If he thinks that endorsement means we will carry his views and share his sentiments, he is sadly mistaken," said Mr Singh in relation to Noor Deros calling his followers to vote for WP candidates such as former Aljunied GRC MP Faisal Manap, who is contesting in Tampines GRC this election.
Mr Singh's statement comes a day after the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Elections Department Singapore (ELD) revealed that several online election advertisements had been posted by foreigners, urging Singaporeans to vote along religious lines. The authorities said they directed Meta to block access to these posts for users in Singapore.
