Filmed over the course of a year during the COVID-19 pandemic, “Facing Eviction” follows people and families across the country who struggled to remain housed as COVID upended the economy. The documentary examines how federal pandemic housing protections — including a temporary ban on evictions and a massive rental assistance program — played out in the experiences of people living through this precarious time: from tenants and landlords to lawyers, judges and the law enforcement officers carrying out evictions.

Assisted living started in the 1980s as a reaction to nursing homes, which had become more oriented toward hospitalization, and as a way of offering seniors more choices and more independence in the way they live. In a 2012 joint investigation by FRONTLINE and the Center for Public Integrity, correspondent Miles O’Brien uncovers the shocking consequences of a broken dental care system. Poor children, entitled by law to dental care, often cannot find a dentist willing to see them. Others kids receive excessive care billed to Medicaid, or major surgery for preventable tooth infections. For adults with dental disease, the situation can be just as dire and bankrupting. “Shots Fired” is the first nationally broadcast documentary stemming from FRONTLINE’s Local Journalism Initiative, an innovative effort to support and strengthen investigative reporting in communities around the country that's funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and based out of FRONTLINE’s newsroom at GBH in Boston.

The documentary offers a one-of-a-kind look at police shootings in Utah over the past decade, drawing on a unique database begun by The Salt Lake Tribune and expanded with FRONTLINE’s assistance over the past year. The two organizations filed hundreds of records requests; combed through court documents, 911 transcripts, internal investigations and media reports; examined body camera footage; and spoke to law enforcement officials, experts and families of people shot by police.

In some cases, the data is incomplete and the numbers too small to draw broad conclusions. But the vast majority of the 226 shootings FRONTLINE and The Salt Lake Tribune documented over the past decade had one thing in common: They were ruled justified. Among the additional findings: Racial and ethnic minorities were disproportionately represented; more than 40% of people shot at were identified by police or families to have had a mental health issue, a mental disability or to have been suicidal; 34 Utah officers have been involved in at least two shootings in their career; and many of the officers who fired their weapons cited their training.

FOX43 News coverage of the police news conference after five officers were shot in York County, Pennsylvania. Authorities confirmed three officers were killed.

We're LIVE in York, Pa. where 3 police officers were killed and 2 more hurt in a shooting in southern Pennsylvania, authorities say.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro will be sharing details after multiple police officers have been shot in North Codorus Township in York County. A number of officers shot was not given but WellSpan earlier confirmed to CBS 21 that it is treating two people in serious condition from the incident.
A helicopter and multiple fire police were called to the area of the 1800 block of Haar Road, according to an online dispatch records from York County.

Three officers were shot dead, and two more were critically wounded while serving a warrant in North Codorus Township Wednesday, Pennsylvania State Police confirmed.

Multiple Northern York Regional police officers were involved, according to numerous law enforcement agencies.

The suspect in the officer-involved shooting also died, officials confirmed.

A helicopter and multiple fire police were called to the area of the 1800 block of Haar Road around 2:10 p.m., according to online dispatch records from York County.

The York County Coroner confirmed to WHP they were called to the officer-involved shooting shortly after.

It all started in 2006, when we, three fans of Jaco Pastorius, decided to self-produce a film to honor the memory of this immense musician, to showcase his approach to music, his creativity, his heritage, and make people discover the “human” imprint that he left within his formations.
Watching for the arrival in France of great musicians having rubbed shoulders with him, we managed to approach some of them, a little "with the nerve" it is true, and to interview Marcus Miller, Joe Zawinul, Peter Erskine, Dave Carpenter and Paco Seri.
The project progressed slowly, at the goodwill of the companies which lent us their equipment or their premises, until in 2008, the images were definitively lost during the move of one of these companies.
But in 2021, while searching his attic, Nico finds a dusty hard drive, which he thought was empty, and discovers that it contains all the lost images in digital format! The project could finally restart and this time we went to the end.
It is this “fan-film” that we are sharing with you today. It contains exclusive, often moving, testimonies that pay homage to comet Jaco Pastorius and the immense musical imprint he left in his wake.
We thank the speakers for their generosity, for the time they agreed to devote to us, for the sole purpose of honoring Jaco's memory.
We would like to point out that this film was made with no budget, no financial aid or no image purchase, all stock and concert images are taken from the internet and all rights reserved. The people who worked on this project did it voluntarily, out of passion and love of music, and the film will in no way be monetized on the platforms, our goal being only to share with you our admiration for "Mr Jaco Pastorius ".
