Queer as Folk is a serial drama television series that ran from December 3, 2000, to August 7, 2005. The series was produced for Showtime by Cowlip Productions, Tony Jonas Productions, Temple Street Productions, and Showtime Networks, in association with Crowe Entertainment. It was developed and written by Ron Cowen and Daniel Lipman, who were the showrunners and also the executive producers along with Tony Jonas, former president of Warner Bros. Television.
It is based on the British series of the same title created by Russell T Davies. Although it was set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, much of the series was actually shot in Toronto and employed various Canadian directors known for their independent film work (including Bruce McDonald, David Wellington, Kelly Makin, John Greyson, Jeremy Podeswa and Michael DeCarlo) as well as Australian director Russell Mulcahy, who directed the pilot episode. Additional writers in the later seasons included Michael MacLennan, Efrem Seeger, Brad Fraser, Del Shores, and Shawn Postoff.

-Officer Fey conducts a routine stop that quickly escalates when a nervous driver refuses to comply, leading to a pursuit through the desert that ends in two arrests and multiple charges including felony evading and resisting.
-Officer Sprague responds to a call about a phone being stolen. It escalates when an intoxicated suspect lashes out, resulting in a scuffle, an arrest, and several charges including resisting and failure to register.
-Officer Donald Collins initiates a freeway pursuit of a stolen vehicle that ends with the driver fleeing on foot, only to be found later at his grandmother’s home and arrested for grand larceny auto, despite denying all involvement.
-Detective Thompson pursues a speeding driver who finally pulls over and admits to mixing alcohol with pain meds, earning charges for impaired driving, evading, and speeding.
-Deputy Horton assists on a domestic call where a man claims his ex-girlfriend broke in and fled, leading to her being located at a nearby payphone, questioned, and released with a warning to stay away.
-Deputy Shinault responds to a domestic dispute involving an estranged wife who refuses to leave. The woman later returns to the home through a window to steal phones, leading to her arrest for first-degree burglary.
-Deputy Foster engages in a high-speed pursuit of a motorcyclist who finally surrenders, then boldly admits he fled due to an invalid license and talks about beating 27 tickets with his lawyer.
