James Obergefell, the plaintiff at the center of the Supreme court case that legalized same-sex marriage in all 50 states, says the retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy means the rights of the LGBT community could be at risk.

Gay and trans rights advocates say the new Respect for Marriage Act is a big step in the right direction, but wish it went further.

A grand jury has issued an indictment in the murder of prominent LGBTQ advocate Jorge Diaz-Johnston.

The victim hopes that his case will serve as a lesson to others.

Advocates Fear Wave of Anti-LGBTQ Bills Could Become Law | NBC News NOW

Religious leaders and advocates came together Friday on Capitol Hill to promote a bill they say would create federal protections for LGBTQ people and strengthen religious freedom within the church. (Dec. 6, 2019)

The signing of House Bill 1608 into law comes as a major victory for the GOP supermajority advocating for more parental rights in schools.

In June 2013, three months after becoming Pope, Francis said in response to a reporter's question, ‘If a person is gay, and seeks God and has goodwill, who am I to judge?’ Francis DeBernardo, executive director of New Ways Ministry, says 2SLGBTQ+ people ‘responded to that.’

In June 2013, Broadway composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz shared the stage in Beverly Hills with the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles. The shows were devoted exclusively to Schwartz's compositions, including six numbers from "Wicked." One of the most potent moments came when 200 gay men declared their determination to Defy Gravity.
